A Daily Mini-Retreat

We can’t all go on a month long retreat — but we can all find a few minutes daily to relax, center, and care for ourselves. Here are 3 ideas for giving yourself a mini-retreat experience:

1) Greet the day with gentleness. If your morning alarm tends to find you on the wrong side of the bed, you may be surprised at how good you feel after easing your body and mind into a new day.

2) Slow down at lunch time. Can you attempt to stay present with all the sensuous aspects of having lunch, instead of downing it in a rush? Set aside 5 minutes to be mindful.

3) Take a walk and observe nature. Savour the journey, even if it’s just a brief stroll—you can escape autopilot and feel more alive. Instead of using your technology to begin with, go outside and take in the sky, take in the flowers, take in the see, take in a tree—allow your eyes and body to take in the nature. .
